Anual Technical Festival, Technoholi 2014, of Indore Institute of Science & Technology was inaugurated in by distinguished Lt General Rajesh Pant, AVSM,VSM, Commandant of Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow on 6th Mar 2014. General Pant, himself a Ph D in Cyber Security and specialist in Electronic and Information warfare, appreciated the creativity and talent of the students of IIST. Today's engineering world is a complex combination of all disciplines and such fusion is exhibited in the models and exhibits displayed by the students.
He urged the students to be innovative and take advantage of the opportunities available in the knowledge economy which is so very necessary to excel and compete in this competitive world. Ms Nandini Mundra, Director Engineering of Impetus, leading software company with operations in Indore, NCR and US, extolled at the marvel produced by the students of IIST and specially appreciated the work being done by computer science department and students.
Dr M S Murthy, Director of IIST, and an authority in thermal design elaborated about seven patents submitted by the mechanical engineering students this year. Shree Asheesh Gupta, Vice Chairman, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and IIM Calcutta, spoke of leveraging new technologies and experiential learning at the Shail Group of Institutions.
The fest started with a seminar by Mr Viral jain of Microsoft Student Partner who spoke on nitty gritty of Windows 8 and another seminar by Google Group who deliberated on Android Apps Development. Major draw of the event was display of technical expertise in Robot Race, Aqua Robot, Line Follower, Electronic Mania and Computer Aided Designs.
The Stunt mania team of TXT enthralled the audience with their skill of handling two wheelers. Seven sided football and Gully Cricket drew huge participation. Roadies, Treasure Hunt, Photography and Videography competition were other attraction of the fest. Students of local schools displayed their Projects and drew huge applause.
Food Zone organized by students catered a multi cuisine environment and kept the audience energized all through the two days of TECHNOHOLI. The event ended with Battle of Bands where students swung with mad melodies of various rock bands of the town. Dr N S Chaudhury, Director NIT Nagpur graced the valedictory function and gave away cash prize to winners and runners up of various events
