IIST Students Excel in Designing a Green Car at "SAE Effi-Cycle Competition 2012" (View All News)
Society of Automotive Engineers, India, had started a competition in 2010 for undergraduate and graduate students which aimed towards encouraging students to design, simulate and fabricate a highly efficient human powered Green Vehicle that is aerodynamic and ergonomically stable. 165 colleges from all over India participated in the competition in 2012 and gave a presentation about their concept to SAE authorities on 18th July at Sangamner Institutute of Technology, Maharastra. 65 colleges were shortlisted for the actual design, fabrication and operation on the test track of UIET, Chandigarh on 26th Oct 2012.
A team of eight final year students of Mechanical Engineering of Indore Institute of Science & Technology presented the concept design of Zero Octane car. The innovative and creative approach of the design impressed the SAE authorities and the design has been cleared for design, fabrication and final competition in Chandigarh later this year.
Kudos to the team led by Kuldeep Pawar; duly supported by Aman Jain, Jitendra Singh Hada, Gaurav Nagar, Kunal Suryvnshi, Shubham Nema, Bhuvnesh Joshi and Vishnu Nair.
