Harshil Dhariwal, BE-3rd Year CS IIST-II, Ankit Motwani, BE-3rd Year ME IIST-II, Arnav Joshi, BE-3rd Year CS IIST-II and Suyog Jain, BE-3rd Year EC IIST were invited for direct entry into the final rounds of 'RoboTryst-2013' held at IIT-Delhi from 2nd March to 5th March, 2013. The event started with the inter-zonal competition wherein zonal winner teams from throughout the country were made to compete against each other. Our students secured the first position in this competition and were awarded the Certificate of Merit.
On 3rd March 2013, a separate round was held for all the on-site registered teams, including the wild-card entries. A total 80 such teams competed on 4th of March. Our team cleared the first round and was one of the 40 teams to compete for the final round. An emergency situation- short circuit in the final round necessitated the change of motherboard. While moving under tremendous pressure, the team damaged the PB0 Pin of microcontroller AT-Mega8. Thus, the team could not compete till the end. However, their hard work and competence helped them win the Certificate of Honour for reaching the final round and securing a position in the top 40 short-listed teams. Well done boys! It is quite creditable to be in the top 40 out of 300 teams which competed in the event. You have represented IIST well, learnt to work under pressure in a competitive environment. We are sure to have a better luck in the future.
