IIST Students Steals the Show at ELECRAMA 2014 at Bangalore (View All News)
Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers' Association (IEEMA) organizes ELECRAMA, a biennial exhibition, where latest products and services in Electrical, Electronics and allied fields from India and abroad are displayed.
ELECRAMA-2014 was held during January 8-12, 2014 at Bangalore which had a special Student Pavilion, under the aegis of Engineer Infinite initiative.
1410 entries from engineering colleges all over India were received out of which 74 projects were short listed for presentation in the final exhibition.
Eco friendly green vehicle, The Recovery, designed by Vishnu Nair, Sushil Verma and Satish Rai of final year Mechanical Engineering of IIST, had the distinction of finding a select place in the exhibition.
The solar powered car with rechargeable batteries that can also be paddled has been fabricated on an AISI SAE chassis having sitting position with semi recumbence and complete weather protection by covering fairing.
They have normal bicycle tires provided with the corresponding rims with a mechanically controlled steering, braking system and shock absorbers. The Recovery has been adjudged as one of the top 20 projects and won certificate of appreciation beside a cash award of Rs 50,000/. This is the only prize winning entry from the state of Madhya Pradesh.
