Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), established in 1981, works for the advancement of these areas of engineering by means of research, lectures, demonstration and publication. It offers career guidance and financial assistance to students who opt to pursue career in these related fields. ISHRAE has branches all over the country as well as in Middle East.
The local chapter of ISHRAE was instituted at Indore Institute of Science & Technology (IIST) on 25th Sep 2013 in presence of Mr. Deepak Arzare, West Zone Chair ISHRAE and Mr. Amit Vijayvargiya, President ISHRAE Indore.
The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp of wisdom by Dr. M. S. Murthy, Director, Dr. Shilpa Tripathi, Dy. Director and Prof R Vijayvargiya, Dean Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. M. S. Murthy explained that ISHRAE club would fulfill the need to bridge the skill deficit in the area of air-conditioning and refrigeration. Mr. Deepak Arzare then spoke on Global Warming and how improved air-conditioning technology can reduce carbon dioxide emission and help in solving global warming issue. He then administered oath to members and office bearers of the club.
Prof. R Vijayvargiya gave vote of thanks. The function was coordinated by Prof. K. P. Tiwari.
